I don't hate them but I don't love em. Pretty much everything that needs to be said can be summed up in a text or two usually for me.

YES! It's taken almost 10 years in my occupation to get my clients to email me. I despise using the phone.

I didn't use to, but I do now.
My brain has been remapped by constant emails, texts, IMs, etc.
I am very, very, very bad at remembering to call back friends who leave me voicemails. But I always reply to texts.

Yup.
Though I am not of doing the speak-y stuff very well anyway so I prefer texts.

I hate them, so much. I hate the telephone in general, and I agree with Stephen Fry that they are an incredibly rude invention. A ringing phone might as well be shouting TALK TO ME NOW TALK TO ME NOW TALK TO ME NOW!
Also, a youth spent working retail means I have a weird phone voice I can't shake. It's customer service voice. It sounds like I'm a DJ on a version of the lite FM for babies.

Only when it's the person in front of me in traffic getting them.
Which is apparently everyone in the town I live in...

I get angry when my phone rings. I'm also notoriously bad about not responding to texts too, though.

I have to talk on the phone quite a bit at my job. I hate it. But sometimes it is easier/quicker to just pick up the phone and talk to someone.
But in my personal life, don't call me, text me. I only answer my mobile for a handful of people. My wife, my two best buddies, and MAYBE members of my extended family (parents, parents-in-law, bros, sis...).

i don't carry a phone. my cell sits in my truck, or in the house. you have no idea how much that irks people. and my phone doesn't have t9, so my texts are as short and direct as possible.

That's why I like the e-mail so much. Unless you still have your Mom, and/or you have a very sexy GF, phone calls are just a nuisance.

Yes. If somebody calls me at ungodly hours of the night especially.

Love the phone for work; not so much for personal.
I don't mind calling people, but I always text because calling someone is saying, "I DEMAND YOUR ATTENTION NOW," which seems rude.

I tried leaving a voicemail for a girl who gave me her phone number once. I'm not surprised she never called me back. I stick to texting from now on.

It's not the phone call I hate, it's the person on the other end.... "Yea I took your input that says 5v input only and hooked a 12v source into it and now it wont work. Your product is garbage blah blah blah".

I guess I'm in the minority for liking calls more than texts or e-mails.

text I can refer back to previous I formation and edit before I hit send. Plus I can wait a few minutes before responding should something else have my attention - how awkward would that be on a call.
Oh and I worked at an Alltel call center for 10 months - every day, on call, 8 hours. No thank you.

It's the opposite way for me.
I like that it's "convenient", but I simply flat-out hate actually doing it. I write much better than I talk.
And the only people who ever call me late in the day are super close friends, so it doesn't bother me too much. That rarely happens, anyway.

I'm bad at leaving voicemails in the first place. I'll leave one if it's an important call, but otherwise I'll just hang it up.
My voicemails are very awkward and filled with "uuuhs".

Yes. I hate having to make calls to people other than my friends or family. When I still had a home phone with an answering machine, I always let it run, regardless if I had caller ID or not. Hate phones, love texting. Man it sucks being socially awkward.

thing I hate the most is when you are talking to someone, and the phone rings, they completely stop to answer the phone. I can understand if they answer and be like "I'll call you back in 5 min" but otherwise the phone sucks
